The sprawling grounds of the Shilin Official Residence in Taipei make for a serene afternoon walk. Former Taiwanese leader Chiang Kai-Shek made his home here and, based on the beauty of the gardens, he must have lead a comfortable life.

The sprawling gardens of the residence were made public in the late 1990's and now visitors have the chance to walk among the beautiful trees, flowers and fountains that were once solely the domain of Chiang Kai-Shek.
