Calgary Tower
The Calgary Tower has always given the city skyline a distinctive silhouette and even though it has been eclipsed in height by other buildings, it is the most recognizable landmark in the Calgary sky.
Built in 1967 and opened in 1968, it held the title of tallest building in Canada only for a brief period before it opened. It was quickly overtaken by the Toronto Dominion Centre.
A major tourist attraction in Calgary, the Tower draws in visitors with its fantastic views and rotating restaurant with fine food. More photos of the Calgary tower can be found in the downtown calgary section of this site.
